Tamkang University History

Tamkang University was founded in 1950 and is located in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Originally started as a Junior college, Tamkang University is a fully fledged University with over 30,000 students.

The academics of the University are offered through the College of Liberal Arts, College of Science, College of Engineering, College of Business, College of Management, College of Foreign Languages and Literature, College of International Studies, College of Education, College Of Entrepreneurial Development, College Of Global Research And Development, Division of Continuing Education, Office of Physical Education, Office of Military Education and Training and Division of Continuing Education.

Tamkang University Campuses

Tamkang University comprises four campuses namely Tamsui Campus, Taipei Campus, Lanyang Campus and Cyber Campus. The Tamsui campus is the main campus is called the The “City of Intellect” as it holds all the facilities that promote instruction as well as research. The Taipei Campus which is termed as the "The Sea of Knowledge Navigator” offers lifelong education and continuing education programs. The Lanyang Campus which is also called the "The Garden of Wisdom" offers all the undergraduate programs and lastly the Cyber Campus called "The Space of Knowledge Explorer" promotes flexible education through courses conducted via E-Learning.

As per the Ministry of Education of China, in the "Comprehensive Private Universities' Medium-range Academic Development Plan", Tamkang University has been rated excellent. It has been ranked first as the most English-Friendly Environment University. It has maintained the first position for 11 years in the 1,000 Enterprises' Favorite College Graduates survey. The WHO has termed the University as an International Safe School.
