Presently an esteemed institute of higher learning in Ukraine, the Taras Shevchenko National University was founded in 1834. The University is located in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine.

The University is divided into 14 faculties and 6 institutes. Apart, from the usual science and arts streams, some of the unique faculties and institutes at the University are Cybernetics, Law, Radio Physics, Journalism, Internationalism, military institute and more.

The main University building with its administration is located at Vladimirska Street and the Humanities departments are at Shevchenko Boulevard. A few other departments are located on Glushkov Street. The University features a Library and a Botanical Garden. Student housing facilities are featured with comfortable halls of residence.
