University of Granada History

The University of Granada is a public university located in the city of Granada, Spain. It was established in the year 1531 by Emperor Charles V. for the teaching of logic, philosophy, theology and canon law.

The University of Granada offers 90 undergraduate degree programs (including 14 double degrees and 12 international dual degrees), 100 Master’s degrees (including 3 Erasmus Mundus, 5 bilingual, 3 in English and 15 learning programs), and 28 doctoral programs. It also includes array language, short, summer and online courses. The University has 5 schools, 22 Faculties and 116 Departments responsible for teaching and research into a specific sector. The University has more than 6,000 staff members, and 55,000 undergraduate students and postgraduate students. 

University of Granada Campuses

The University of Granada is spread over five different campuses in the city of Granada (Centro, Cartuja, Fuentenueva, Aynadamar and Ciencias de la Salud), plus two more campuses located in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla.

University of Granada, Dr. Pedro JesúsCuadros-Solas receives prestigious Research Award for the best thesis in Economics from the Spanish Royal Academy of Doctors. Alicia Relinque, Head of the Confucius Institute at UGR, has been awarded the Special Book Prize at the Beijing Book Fair.
