University of Maribor History
The University of Maribor is the second-largest university of Slovenia is located in the city of Maribor. The university dates back to 1859 when it was established as a theological seminary by the Maribor Bishop Anton Martin Slomsek. More faculties were added in the 1950s and 1960s officially opening in 1975.
