University of Messina History
The University of Messina also known as UNIME is an Italian university located in the town of Messina. The university was established by Ignatius of Loyola in 1548 and it serves as a model for all the Jesuit colleges established later. The university presently enrolls over 22,000 students.

The University of Messina is spread over four campuses in the town of Messina, Italy. The Central Campus is home to administrative buildings and four faculties and is situated in the heart of the town. The other campuses are Campus Policlinico in the south, Campus Papardo in the north, and Contrada Citola in Annunziata, which is located outside the town centre.
The University of Messina offers all the basic amenities to students such as libraries, study spaces, laboratories and classrooms, and halls of residence in addition to leisure, sports, and recreational facilities.
