University of Navarra Background
The institution was founded as the Estudio General de Navarra in the mid-twentieth century, with the encouragement of Josemaría Escrivá. The institute has humble beginnings but soon grew to be one of the most significant institutes in the country.

The University has a total of more than eleven thousand students in which more than seventeen hundred are international, and eight thousand are pursuing a bachelor's degree, more than one thousand five hundred are master's degree students, and nine hundred sixty-three are PhD students.

The University of Navarra has six campuses in Pamplona, San Sebastián, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich and New York City. Most of the facilities and centres are located in Pamplona, which is based in the major cities of the world.

The Times World University ranks the University of Navarra among the 400 most prestigious institutions of higher education in the world. The QS World University Rankings 2019 placed the University of Navarra in the 242nd position in the world.
