University of Petra History

University of Petra is one of the esteemed private university located in Amman, Jordan. The University was founded in the year 1991. The University was initially started as a small community college only for girls. It was primarily known by the name of Jordan University of girls. With the passage of time the University sustained to a full-fledged coeducational University.

University of Petra Courses and Schools

University of Petra is composed of fourteen colleges, eight faculties and many departments. It offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees in the disciplines of Architecture, Arts, Designing, Law, Medical Biology, Administrative Sciences, Education, Pharmacy, Languages, Computer Sciences, Health Management, Spatial Sciences, Administrative Services, Finance, Tourism, Hospitality, Music, Sports, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mass Communication, Information Sciences, Medicine, Liberal Arts, Politics, Technology, Law and many more.
The University owes two Research councils accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It is accredited by IAU, FUIW associations.

University of Petra has a huge campus. The campus has a huge dormitory. The hostel rooms available for are fully equipped. The Campus represents state of art infrastructure and is furnished with computer laboratories, Theatres, Stores, Cafeterias and Gymnasium. The university owes many Students clubs and Organizations. Apart from this University owes its own Artisan Well in the Campus
The library of the University is very big and digitalised and well furnished with latest version of books, electronic databases, mandates, journals and articles.
