University of Ryukyus History
The University of Ryukyus is one of the largest public university of Japan. It is located in the city of beautiful city of Okinawa. The university was established on 22 May 1950. The university was initially started with a meagre amount of students in a small wooden institution by the ruling US Government in Japan after World War II. Under the guidance of State Michigan University USA the University adopted its presence. The University was formerly categorized a state run University till 2004 and got categorized as National University Corporation afterwards.

University of Ryukyus Programs, Courses and Schools
The University of Ryukyus comprises of seven graduate schools and six faculties and several departments. The University offers different programs at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Various programs taught at these schools include Law, Arts and Humanities, Literature, Education, Engineering, Bio Sciences, Agriculture, Economics, Politics, Music, Mathematics, Nursing, Animal Husbandry, Medical and Health Sciences, Technology, Science and several other courses are available.
The University is affiliated to ASAIHL. The University has several inbound and outbound Research exchange centres too.

The University of Ryukyus owns a huge campus in the vicinity of the Okinawa city. The campus is lush and green and provides state of art infrastructure. The campus hosts a Fitness Centres, Badminton courts, Basketball Court, and many such facilities for recreation for the students. The campus also has an International Student Unit for cultural exchange activities. The Fujukan Museum is a major attraction in the campus of the University.
The library of the University is computerized and has a collection of latest books, Manuscripts, journals, e-books and papers. Students can avail online facilities for reading.
