University of Zulia History                                           

University of Zulia also known as LUZ or La Universidad del Zulia is a public university located in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela. The university was established as Federal College of Maracaibo and was conferred university status in year 1891. The university was closed in 1909 due to political upheaval in the country and re-opened in 1946.
