American University of Central Asia History

American University of Central Asia was setup in the year 1993. It is a public university which is situated in Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. It is funded by U.S. Government and the Open Society Institute. Earlier it was named as Kyrgyz- American University and American University in Kyrgyzstan. It has come into partnership with many American universities since its development.

American University of Central Asia Programs, Courses and Schools

American University of Central Asia comprises of multidisciplinary departments and research institutes and centres. It offers 14 bachelor’s and ten master’s degree programs. Students can also apply for research, student exchange program, continuing education, diploma and preparatory programs.

It has recruited trained faculties holding remarkable credentials from the renowned universities of the world. It also offers new generation academy program, summer school and can become the part of Technical School of Innovation. It follows liberal arts tradition and American curriculum in imparting quality education.

American University of Central Asia Campuses

American University of Central Asia has renovated and urban campus with a multi-storey building. Its inside is highly attractive with facilities like cafeteria, recreational area, museum, theatre, campus store, medical unit, conference hall, meeting place, shuttle service, sports facility, fields, pool, gym, auditorium and shared service centre. University media has newsletter and magazines. Some program specific clubs are there. Rainwater harvesting and geothermal energy utilisation is made.

University library is the digital unit equipped with books, magazines, research guides, periodicals, publications, theses, study material and catalogues. Databases, e-services, digital library, workshops and training area, computer lab, tutorials, virtual library and internet services are accessible.

American University of Central Asia Achievements and USP

American University of Central Asia is of high significance to the region and its education. According to QS EECA University Rankings, it comes among the top 200 universities of Europe and Central Asia. It is ranked among the top 10 universities of the country. It has various awards and distinctions on its name such as high state award by Prime Minister of Kyrgyz Republic and a citation in American School and University Architectural Portfolio and many more.

Students can apply for scholarships, both government and private and grants. Each have separate criteria such as merit, nationality, financial status etc. These criteria have to be met.
