Indian Institute of Technology History

Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. It is the oldest technical institution in Asia. It was announced as the nation's seventh Indian Institute of Technology, by the Government of India. The order was converted into an act by the Parliament to make IIT Roorkee an "Institution of National Importance”.

Indian Institute of Technology Programs, Courses, and Schools

IIT Roorkee provides academic programmes in Engineering, Technology, Applied Sciences, and Management. It also provides eleven undergraduate, one integrated dual degree, sixty-one postgraduate and several doctoral programmes. Also, the institute offers a two-year residential MBA program. The institute also provides a program in computer applications leading to a degree in Master of computer applications.

Indian Institute of Technology Campuses

The main campus in Roorkee is an area of 365 acres and has a separate campus of 25 acres in Saharanpur. There is a new ten-acre campus which has been established in Greater Noida, Knowledge Park II, This campus has 16 lecture rooms, software laboratories, faculty offices, a library, and a computer center.

Indian Institute of Technology Achievements and USP

Indian Institute of Technology provides scholarship for the students having up to 275 All India Rank in JEE Advance they are eligible for James Thomason Scholarship. All such students admitted to IIT Roorkee will get Rs 25000/- per month for the entire duration of their program. They will be expected to obtain a CGPA of 8.0, or above, at the end of every academic year.
