University of Galati is a public university located in Galati, Romania. The university was established in the year 1974 as an amalgamation of a Polytechnic Institute and the College of Education. In the year 1991 the University was renamed as Dunarea de Jos. The University is known for its programs in Naval and Mechanical Engineering
