University of Brawijaya History
The University of Brawijaya also known as Universitas Brawijaya and abbreviated as UB is an Indonesian university based in Malang, East Java. The university was established in 1963 eventually conferring it the status of a state university in the year 1967. The university derives its name from the title of kings of Majapahit, an Indonesian kingdom from the 12th to 15th century.

The University of Brawijaya has four campuses; two of them are located in Malang and others at Veteran and Dieng. The university offers a wide range of sports facilities including Universitas Brawijaya Sports Center (UBSC), Volleyball Court, Badminton Court, Tennis Court, and multi-purpose sports hall for Basketball and Football. UB Homeland comprises of facilities for playing music and home to traditional Javanese music and dance activities.
The University of Brawijaya also offers facilities for regional, national, or international seminars, and a student centre building for or scientific seminars, student admission, contest/competition, student congress, book fair, and other activities. The university is also home to UB Hotel for guests, staff, and students.

The University of Brawijaya is recognized as one of the elite universities in Indonesia and is ranked 5th nationally according to the Education Ministry of Indonesia. It is ranked 51st in Asia and the top 400 in the world according to QS World University Rankings.
The University of Brawijaya collaborates extensively with students on research and development activities. Many of the students of the university are awarded at contests and competitions on a regional and national level such as the Indonesian Science Institute Experiment Competition.
